Q: What behaviors or performance tend to be misunderstood?

A:

1. Because of some weird or inappropriate reaction, often be seen as geeks.

2. When classmates are angry, autistic students might still joke around because they couldn't recognize others' emotions correctly.

3. Often be regarded as ill-tempered since they scream or get angry for no specific reasons. However, it is actually due to sensory overload.

4. Often be regarded as not interested in getting along with people because they often stay alone or be silent. Therefore other classmates often avoid interacting with them. However, some autistic students do like to interact with people, it’s just not they don’t know how.

5. Couldn't comprehend ironic metaphors and therefore often be seen as weird.

6. Since they often look down on the floor or playing with their own fingers instead of looking at others, they often be seen as impolite.

7. Losing control of emotions isn't easy to be understood, for example, when changing classrooms.

8. Different recognition about facial expression and social clues.

9. Getting irritated or avoiding behaviors caused by anxiety, worry or fear is easy to be misunderstood.

1.常被認為是白目，講一些奇怪或不合時宜的話
2.當同學生氣時自閉症孩子可能依然在旁說一些開玩笑的話，但其實是因為他們無法正確分辨別人的情緒
3.常被認為是脾氣暴躁，會無故尖叫或或發脾氣，但其實是因為有些無法忍受的感官超載
4.常常自己一人或不說話，因此被認為是不喜歡與人相處，同學因此而避開，但有些自閉症小孩其實是喜歡與人互動的，只是他們沒有合宜的方式
5.聽不懂諷刺的話，因此常被同學認為是個性古怪或被討厭
6.被覺得沒有禮貌，因為與人互動或說話時總是看地上或玩弄自己的手指

7.不易被理解的情緒失控，比如:換教室。

8.表情，眼神，對社交線索的判讀與別人不同。
9.因為焦慮、擔心、害怕而發脾氣或者逃避的行為會被誤解。
